| Sinopsis: | Edad Recomendada FICI: + 10 años En 2005 Punam Tamang es una niña de nueve años que vive en la ciudad Nepalí de Bhaktapur. Hermana mayor Punam muestra la dura vida de esta pequeña, cuya madre murió cuando ella tenía sólo cinco años, dejándola con su padre, su hermana recién nacida Rabina y su hermano de dos años Krishna. El padre de Punam trabaja de sol a sol en una fábrica, así que durante el día es ella la cabeza de familia, cuidando de sus hermanos y haciendo las labores del hogar. In 2005, Punam Tamang is nine, living in the Nepalese city of Bhaktapur. Big Sister Punam follows the hard life of this young girl, whose mother died when she was only five, leaving her with her father, her newborn sister Rabina and her two-year-old brother Krishna. Punam's father works from sunrise to sundown in a rice factory, and so during the day she heads the family, acting as caregiver and homemaker. For Punam, hope is symbolized by the local five-grade primary school. Punam’s friends have their own challenges, and some do not have enough money to afford the school fee. Instead of studying, these children must work under difficult conditions at a stone quarry or brick-making factory to help their families get by. Four years later, life has changed for Punam, who is now thirteen. What she and her siblings had managed to avoid has now become an inevitability: in 2009, her narrative takes us to the local brick-making factory. |
